This image intrigues me as much as it disturbs. There is something haunting about a rose that sheds its petals and bleeds. The potency is further reinforced when the background of the image is in black and white. A flower so beautiful and a symbol so universal is as fragile as the human condition. There is nothing more poignant about an image of a bleeding rose than when it reminds us of its, and consequently, our own mortality.
